When training to be an electrical/electronic/control engineer, one of my fellow an apprentices was tasked with fault finding a malfunctioning portable radio. We used to refer to the appliance in those times as a ‘wireless’!
Anyway the apprentice remarked to our instructor,… ”Sir, it seems to work when I place the multi-meter probes here”, to which the instructor remarked, “well 'tha' better solder the meter probes in place then”
